P.E.O. Chapter GW and the International Chapter P.E.O. Sisterhood has awarded Amelia Wiggins a grant of $1,800 to assist in reaching her education goals, through its Program for Continuing Education.
Amelia is attending the Bank Street College of Education in New York City, N.Y. for a Masters Degree and works full time for The Stark Museum in Orange.
The P.E.O. Sisterhood, founded January 21, 1869 at Iowa Wesleyan College, Mount Pleasant, Iowa, is a philanthropic and educational organization interested in bringing to women increased opportunities for higher education.
There are approximately 6,000 local chapters in the United States and Canada with nearly 250,000 active members. Chapter GW was organized in Orange in 1986.
