BEAUMONT —
A 32-year-old Nederland, Texas man has been indicted for bank robbery in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales.
Christopher Levi Woodcock was indicted by a federal grand jury on Wednesday and charged with bank robbery.
According to court documents, on Aug. 13, 2012, Woodcock is alleged to have entered the Community Bank on Highway 365 in Nederland, Texas, and presented a threatening note demanding money from a bank teller. It is also alleged that Woodcock fled from the bank with $940.
Fingerprint analysis and community tips led to Woodcock’s arrest. Woodcock admitted to the charges following his arrest. He will appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Zack Hawthorn on Sept. 7, 2012 for an initial appearance and arraignment.
If convicted, Woodcock faces up to 20 years in federal prison.
This case is being investigated by FBI and the Nederland Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John Craft.
