    Kylie Bradley hit a game-winning grand slam in the top of the seventh inning to help get the Orangefield Lady Bobcats past the Liberty Lady Panthers 6-5 as the Lady Bobcats advance on the Class 3A Region III area round of the playoffs.

    The Vidor Pirates forced a one-game playoff for the fourth-place playoff spot by defeating Little Cypress-Mauriceville 6-5 in 10 innings late Friday night at Pirate Field.

  • BC Tanner Cervenka Signing.jpg BC Cervenka signs with Southwestern University

    Bridge City receiver/defensive back Tanner Cervenka signed Friday to play college football at Southwestern University in Georgetown. Cervenka was a second team selection as a wide receiver on the All-Orange Leader Football Team this past year as a senior. He caught 13 passes for 255 yards with five touchdowns.

  • Kree.jpg American Idol Teaser

    Southeast Texas native Kree Harrison is safe again. American Idol threw viewers and sinigers a curveball Thursday by not sending anyone home. Harrison received negative remarks from judges on Wednesday but it was announced she was in the Top 2 on Thursday before being told it did not matter. Now the votes from this week will be combined with votes next week to determine who makes the final three. Harrison sings again this upcoming Wednesday.

    The Bridge City Cardinals scored early Thursday night and then scored late to end the game on a run-rule versus the West Orange-Stark Mustangs.

  • Bobcats swat Buna to earn playoff spot

    Getting superb pitching efforts from starter Braxton Smith and reliever Ryan Gunstream and picking up some timely hits, the Orangefield Bobcats snared the third-place playoff berth out of District 21-3A by downing the Buna Cougars 5-3 at Cougar Stadium Thursday night.
