Area playoff teams have games set

ORANGE — High school football playoffs are all set for  Southeast Texas high school football teams that are in the bidistrict playoffs.

The District 21-3A champion West Orange-Stark Mustangs (10-0) will take on the Cleveland Indians (7-3) in the Class 3A Region III Division II bidistrict round at the Carroll “Butch” Thomas Educational Center in Beaumont Friday at 7 p.m.

The WO-S-Cleveland winner will face either West Columbia or Houston Kashmere in the area round.

Ticket prices are $7 for Adults & $4 for Students. All tickets at the gate are $7. Tickets will be on sale in the WO-S Athletic Office the following dates & times: Thursday, November 15 - 9 a.m.-noon and  1 p.m.-3 p.m.; Friday, November from 9 a.m.-noon only.

The Bridge City Cardinals (5-5) will take on the Coldspring Trojans (8-2) in the 3A Division II bidistrict round Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Channelview’s Maddry Stadium. The winner will likely face LaMarque in the next round.

The Vidor Pirates (9-1) will battle with Humble Summer Creek (10-0) in the 4A Region III Division I bidistrict round Friday at 7 p.m. at Deer Park’s Abshier Stadium. The winner will face either Georgetown or Magnolia West.

On Thursday night, the East Chambers Buccaneers (8-2) will tangle with Troup (9-1) in the 2A Division 1 bidistrict round at 7 p.m. at Lufkin’s Abe Martin Stadium with the winner facing Franklin next week.

There are several more playoff games Friday night.

In the 4A Region III Division II bidistrict round, Livingston (5-5) will meet Barbers Hill (7-3) at Humble’s Turner Stadium at 7:30 p.m. with the winner getting either Brenham or Elgin.

In 3A Region III Division I action, Silsbee (8-02) will face Huffman (7-3) at 7:30 p.m. at Lamar University’s Provost-Umphrey Stadium with the winner meeting either Houston Yates or Stafford.

Also, the Jasper Bulldogs (8-2) will face Groesbeck (6-4) at 7 p.m. at Driskell Stadium in Crockett. The winner will get either China Spring or Navasota.

In Class 2A Region III Division I play, Anahuac (5-5) will face White Oak (8-2) at 7:30 p.m. at Diboll’s Lumberjack Stadium.

On Saturday, the Port Arthur Memorial (8-2) will take on Manvel (9-1) in the 5A Region III Division II bidistrict round at 1 p.m. at Channelview’s Maddry Stadium with the winner getting either Fort Bend Dulles or Brazoswood.

In the 4A Region III Division I bidistrict round, 20-4A champion Nederland (9-1) will meet Dayton (9-1) at 1 p.m. at Lamar University’s Provost-Umphrey Stadium. The winner will face either Pflugerville Connally or Montgomery.

In the 4A Region III Division II bidistrict round, Beaumont Ozen (4-6) will meet Crosby (7-3) at 1 p.m. at the Galena Park ISD Stadium. The winner will face either Manor or Huntsville.

    The Orangefield Bobcats slammed Houston Furr 11-1 in five innings in the Class 3A Region III area round playoffs Saturday afternoon, now they will face District 21-3A rival Silsbee in the Region III quarterfinals this week.
