ORANGEFIELD —
The Orangefield Bobcats snared a big 6-4 District 21-3A victory over Hardin-Jefferson Tuesday night to improve to 2-1 in district play.
Braxton Smith got the win on the hill for the Bobcats (11-4, 2-1). He worked 5 2/3 innings, allowing six hits while striking out nine. Ryan Gunstream earned the save and did not allow a hit.
Smith was hot at the plate as well, going 4-for-4 with two runs batted in.
H-J fell to 11-4 overall, 0-2 in 21-3A play.
The Bobcats will host West Orange-Stark (9-7, 1-1) Friday night.
