BEAUMONT — The summer swim season is at its halfway point, and several swimmers are asserting their dominance on a weekly basis.

The Vidor Area Swim Team and City of Orange Swim Team traveled to Beaumont for the third contest of the Golden Triangle Swim Association’s summer season. Two regular contests remain before the championship event on July 21.

Zoe Bahl of VAST captured four victories this past Saturday, June 23. Bahl, 12, won the Girls 11-12 100 Yard Individual Medley, 50 Yard Freestyle, 50 Yard Breaststroke and 100 Yard Freestyle.

Teammates Joel Schiesler and Hannah Odom also won multiple events. Schiesler, 12, claimed victory in the Boys 11-12 50 Yard Freestyle and 50 Yard Backstroke, while Odom, 13, won the Girls 13-14 50 Yard Butterfly and 100 Yard Freestyle.

Carly Bessire, also of VAST, won the Girls 13-14 50 Yard Backstroke.

Several COST swimmers came away victorious this past Saturday as well.

Presley Alexander led the way with three wins, including the Girls 7-8 25 Yard Butterfly, 25 Yard Backstroke and 25 Yard Breaststroke.

Jordan Alexander of COST claimed victory in the Boys 9-10 25 Yard Freestyle and 25 Yard Breaststroke. Paige Perales, 16, won the Girls 15-16 50 Yard Backstroke.
