Stangs, Bears, Lady Cards notch wins

WEST ORANGE — Five West Orange-Stark players scored in double figures Tuesday night as the Mustangs toppled the Lumberton Raiders 78-68 at Mustang Gym.

Anthony Noble paced the Mustangs (2-1) with 15 points.

Jokeenen Cotton powered his way to 13 points while Josh Simmons tallied 12.

Both Josh Simmons and Justin Francis added 10 points apiece.

Dunkleberger led Lumberton with 25 points.

The Mustangs will face Vidor at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the first round of the Nederland Tournament.



LC-M boys 60, H-F 31

FANNETT — Outscoring Hamshire-Fannett 20-6 in the first period, Little Cypress-Mauriceville never looked back as the Bears crushed the Longhorns 60-31 in non-district hoop action at Longhorn Gym Tuesday night.

Cameron Johnson led the balanced Bears (4-0) with 15 points.

Johnny Epps pumped in 13 points while Hunter Gonzales contributed 12.

The Bears will compete in the Cedar Creek Shootout Thursday through Saturday.



BC girls 71, Spurger 30

BRIDGE CITY - The Bridge City Lady Cardinals starrted with a 19-8 run and never looked back as they spanked Spurger 71-30 Tuesday night.

Jordan Royal continued her hot hand for the Lady Cardinals (3-1), leading the way with 18 points.

Allison Angelle chimed in with 14 points and Sarah McPherson added 10 as the Lady Cardinals prepare to host the First Annual Woolley Classic at Bridge City Thursday through Saturday.



Evadale boys 69, Deweyville 61

EVADALE — The Evadale Rebels took down the Deweyville Pirates 69-61 in non-district hoop action.

Garrett Haney pumped in 16 points, swiped eight steals, grabbed six rebounds and dished off four assists for the Pirates. Hunter Estes also tallied 16 points and had three steals.

Keeton Addison chipped in with nine points, four assists and four rebounds. Trey Craft had eight points and three steals while Eric Avila notched five points, five assists and five rebounds.

The Pirates will compete in the Evadale Tournament Thursday through Saturday.
