SILSBEE —
The Little Cypress-Mauriceville boys and girls powerlifting teams stormed to team titles at the Silsbee Powerlifting Meet last Thursday.
The LC-M boys placed first with 41 points, followed by Orangefield (33), Silsbee (30) and West Orange-Stark (22).
The Lady Bears (35) nipped the WO-S Lady Mustangs (33) for first-place followed by Silsbee (27) and Orangefield (15).
In the boys divisions WO-S’ Payton Robertson won the 114-pound class in the venues of bench press, deadlift, and squat with a total weight of 485 pounds.
LC-M’s Javier Garcia took the 132-pound class with 925 pounds with Orangefield’s Regan Ficken getting second with 895 pounds. Garcia received best lifter honors from the 114-to-165 pound classes.
Orangefield’s Matthew Watkins took first in the 148-pound division, lifting 790 pounds while teammate Cameron Guillot nabbed third with 735 pounds.
LC-M’s Tyler Hanna captured the 165-pound class with 825 pounds. LC-M’s Troy Angelo was first in the 181-pound division with 1,375 pounds and Orangefield’s Ian Putman was second with 1,140 pounds. Angelo was named top lifter for the 181-to- Super heavyweight divisions.
WO-S’ Joe Lynch took the 198-pound division with 1,270 pounds while teammate Jhaylinn Monette was second with 1,175 pounds.
LC-M’s Coy Laughlin was first in the 220-pound class with 1,225 pounds. Orangefield’s Bryan Lopez was second with 1,125 pounds and WO-S’ Octavious Crosson was third with 965.
Orangefield’s Jerrod Watkins nabbed first in the 242-pound class with 1,190 pounds and LC-M’s Carter Beck was third with 950. LC-M’s Jonathan Judge took the 275-pound class with 1,105 pounds.
For the girls. LC-M’s Nikki Mathis was second in the 114-pound class with 430 pounds while WO-S’ Elisha Colbert was third with 375 pounds. In the 123-pound division, WO-S’ Taylor Colbert was second with 430 pounds.
LC-M’s Kallye Harris dominated the 132-pound class with 720 pounds. WO-S’ Shanna Hypolite was second with 500 pounds and Orangefield’s Madelyn Hamilton was third with 460.
LC-M’s Courtney Price took the 148-pound division with 515 pounds. Lady Bear teammate Heather Stout was second with 470 pounds and WO-S’ Elosis Bandage was third with 445.
Orangefield’s Rachel Johnson was first in the 165-pound class with 625 pounds and WO-S’ Destinie Stewart was second with 515.
LC-M’s Robertnica Stevens won the 198-pound class with 975 pounds and teammate Blythe Ferguson took the 220-pound division with 975 pounds.
