BRAZOSPORT —
Piling up big offensive plays and collecting plenty of turnovers, the Community Christian Lions outlasted Brazosport Christian 79-59 in TAPPS district play Friday night.
R.C. Morris had a tremndous all-around game for the Lions (4-1, 2-0).
Morris had two catches for 80 yards and a touchdown. He carries the ball five times for 66 yards and scored two more touchdowns. He also found time to be on 10 1/2 tackles and also had an interception and a fumble recovery.
Quarterback Brett Foster completed 5-of-8 passes for 169 yards and four touchdowns.
Dakota Alexander paced the Lions’ ground attack, going for 105 yards and a touchdown on just six totes.
Joseph LeBlanc had a 57-yard touchdown catch, brought back a kickoff for another score and also had an interception. Jacob Alexander had a 26-yard touchdown grab and also had a rushing score.
Lawrence Gallo brought back an interception 82 yards for a touchdown.
Defensively, Alex Parrish had four tackles and Amron Akhtar notched a fumble recovery.
The Lions will face another stern road test this Friday when they travel to Brenham Christian.
