Moss, LeBlanc lift Lady Cats to Tennison wins

ORANGEFIELD — The Orangefield Lady Bobcats wrapped up their own Bill Tennision Basketball Tournament Friday with a 57-43 victory over the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears at Bobcat Gym.

Post Morgan Moss led the Lady Bobcats with 22 points and was an amazing 14-of-16 from the free-throw line while also hauling down eight rebounds.

Point guard Kacey LeBlanc put together a nice double-double, tallying 13 points to go along with 10 steals and six assists. Kacie Lummus contributed eight points while Paige Perales grabbed seven rebounds.

Tara Thompson powered the Lady Bear attack with 17 points while Cassidy Webster added nine.

Also on Friday, the Lady Bears dropped a 48-43 decision to Port Neches-Groves.

Webster led the Lady Bears with 15 points while Tara Thompson had nine.

Taylor Breuer led PN-G with 14 points while Ryanne Lunceford chimed in with 12.

On Thursday, the Lady Bobcats thumped PN-G 68-30.

Moss led the way with 24 points and seven boards. LeBlanc had another strong double-double, scoring 15 points while snaring 11 steals and adding six assists. Megan Burton posted 10 points and six assists while Carley Choate had nine points and four boards.

Lunceford led PN-G with eight points while Kelsey Collier and Rikkie Winkler contributed six points apiece.

The Bridge City Lady Cardinals snagged a pair of wins at the tourney Thursday.

Bridge City defeated LC-M 40-27. Baiee Bacon led the Lady Cardinals with 18 points while Alexus Henry filtered in 12. Tara Thompson led the Lady Bears with nine points while Tori Thompson had eight.

The Lady Cardinals also defeated PN-G 51-29.

Henry popped for a game-high 23 points while Bacon threw in 13 and Caylin Choate added seven. Winkler and Breuer led the Lady Indians with six points apiece.

All three Orange County teams will return to district action this Friday.

Orangefield will host Hardin-Jefferson in a nice showdown while Bridge City welcomes in Silsbee and LC-M travels to Nederland.
