ORANGE —
Area basketball teams will shake off all of those turkey dinners and will hit the hardwood this week.
The week features two big boys basketball tournaments, including the YMBL Tournament in Beaumont and the Evadale Tournament.
Non-district boys action tonight will pit Little Cypress-Mauriceville at Hamshire-Fannett; Orangefield at Vidor and East Chambers at Bridge City.
Girls non-district action tonight will include Orangefield at LC-M; Hamshire-Fannett at Vidor; and Bridge City at Beaumont Central.
LC-M and West Orange-Stark will compete in the YMBL Tournament Thursday through Saturday.
LC-M will open up the tournament at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Montagne Center at Lamar University against Silsbee while WO-S will face Beaumont Ozen at 9 a.m. at the Montagne Center.
Other games in the tourney include Fort Bend Ridge Point vs. Beaumont Central (noon); Dallas Madison vs. Fort Bend Hightower (1:30 p.m.); NHorth Shore vs. PN-G (3 p.m.); Beaumont West Brook vs. Lufkin (4:30 p.m.); Houston Wheatley vs. Port Arthur Memorial (6 p.m.); and Nederland vs. New Orleans Walker (7:30 p.m.).
Bridge City, Orangefield and Vidor will be participating in the Evadale Invitational.
Thursday games include Bridge City vs. Warren (10:30 a.m.); Evadale vs. Deweyville (1:30 p.m); Orangefield vs. Vidor (4:30 p.m.); and Liberty vs. Buna (7:30 p.m.).
Non-district girls games slated for Friday include PN-G at Bridge City and WO-S at East Chambers.
