BRIDGE CITY —
The Bridge City Powerlifting Team hosted their own meet last week and did very well.
In the 105-pound weight class, Junior Jannet Tran placed third with a total weight of 500 pounds.
In the 114-pound weight class, Senior Kayden Church placed first with a total weight of 685 pounds. Church also received recognition for outstanding lifter for the 97-165 weight classes. She had second best squat (265 pounds), best bench (160 pounds) and third best deadlift (260 pounds).
In the 123-pound class, Sophomore Jacey Walker placed first with a total weight of 570 pounds and Freshman Jimi Kern placed second with a total weight of 490 pounds. In the 165-pound class, Freshman Morgan Church placed first with a total weight of 685 pounds. Church also received recognition for second best bench (165 pounds). Also, Sophomore Rikki Bodin placed second with a total weight of 615 pounds.
In the 181-poundclass, Freshman Emily Warren placed second with a total weight of 660 pounds and Senior Alexis Morris placed fifth with a total weight of 610 pounds. In the 220-pound class, Senior Shayla Stankus placed first with a total weight of 910 pounds. She also received second best lifter for the 181 to 220+ weight classes. She performed the second best squat (400 pounds), best bench (200 pounds) and second best deadlift (310 pounds).
The Lady Cardinals have finished the regular season by winning all the meets attended. They will be lifting at the Regional Meet in Palacios on March 9.
