Never able to find their “groove” at the plate, the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears saw their excellent season come to an end Saturday as they fell 2-0 to the Ridge Point Lady Panthers in Game Two at Port Arthur Memorial High School in the Class 4A Region III semifinals.

The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears will have to take two games at perhaps their favorite playoff “home” Saturday after dropping a tough 2-0 decision to the Ridge Point Lady Panthers in Game One of their Class 4A Region III semifinals at Alvin High School Friday night.

Striking for five runs in the first two innings, the Silsbee Tigers took down District 21-3A rival Orangefield 5-1 in Game One of their best-of-three Class 3A regional quarterfinal series at Vidor High School Thursday night.

There is no question the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears are having fun as far as reaching the Class 4A Region III “Final Four” goes but they also realize that they are just two series wins away from reaching the ultimate “Final Four.”
