LITTLE CYPRESS —
The playoff hopes are still alive at Little Cypress-Mauriceville.
LC-M thrashed Lumberton 37-6 at Battlin’ Bears Stadium on Friday night, keeping the Bears in the hunt for a District 20-4A postseason berth with two games left in the regular season.
The Bears have Central in Beaumont next Saturday and host Vidor on Friday, Nov. 9, in the season finale. LC-M (4-4) improves to 3-2 in district play while Central, after Friday’s loss to Livingston, falls to 2-3, making Saturday’s game critical in the Bears’ drive to make the postseason.
“You’re controlling your destiny,” said LC-M Coach Randy Crouch. “You have to play your way into the playoffs in this district. No one is going to give you anything. This district, every week, is hard-fought. If you look ahead, you’re making a serious mistake.”
