WEST ORANGE — Putting together their best overall game of the season, the sixth-ranked West Orange-Stark Mustangs blew past Orange County rival Orangefield 54-0 in District 21-3A play at Hooks Stadium Friday night.
Defensively, the Mustangs (7-0, 3-0) recorded their 85th shutout in school history and the their fifth of the season as they limited the Bobcats (3-5, 2-2) to 132 yards and five first downs. In t˙ree 21-3A games, the Mustangs have outscored their opponents 147-0.
Defensively, we were flying to the ball all night and didn’t allow them to breathe. I would’ve never told you we’d have five shutouts at this point but we’ll take it and we’re extremely proud of the kids’ effort.”
