Both teams need a big win Friday night to stay in the thick of the District 21-3A race as the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns welcome the Orangefield Bobcats to Longhorn Stadium.
Both squads are coming off tough losses last week to start the 21-3A campaign.
The Bobcats (1-4, 0-1) dropped a 48-7 decision to Silsbee while the Longhorns (2-3, 0-1) fell to West Orange-Stark 44-0.
The Bobcats will check in averaging 297.6 yards a game.
Tailback Carl Wiley leads the Bobcat ground game with 459 yards and four touchdowns on 83 carries. He had 121 yards and a touchdown in the loss to Silsbee.
Quarterback Eric Truncale, who sat out last week with an injury, has 367 yards and three TDs on 52 carries.
Tyron Como (39-225-1), Dustin Verrett (21-178-1) and Colby Choate (23-103-0) also boost the running attack.
The Longhorns will face an Orangefield defense that is giving up 343.2 yards a game.
Longhorn quarterback Dante Smith has completed 45-of-88 passes for 535 yards and three TDs to go along with six picks.
Travis Appling has 13 catches for 305 yards and a TD while Darius Riley has 19 catches for 169 yards and two TDs.
Jordan Brown spearheads the H-F ground game with 360 yards and two TDs on 85 carries while Smith has 128 yards and a TD on 29 carries.
The Bobcats will play host to Hardin-Jefferson next week while the Longhorns go to Buna.
