BEAUMONT —
A new film and music festival is making its debut this weekend.
The Lagniappe Film and Music Festival will be held Friday, March 1, and Saturday, March 2, in downtown Beaumont featuring 14 bands, two venues and two nights, along with a myriad of independent movies and music videos.
The music will be held inside Tequila Rok and the Red Room, both of which are located in the Crockett Street Entertainment District in downtown Beaumont.
Bands scheduled to perform at Tequila Rok on Friday night are Dimitri’s Rail, Mobley, Tax the Wolf and A Sea Es, while Saturday night’s schedule features The Manichean, Digital Antique, We are Wombat and Featherface.
The Red Room’s schedule on Friday night features headlining act Downfall Rising, plus special guests Jack Edery and UltraSuede and Black Bone Child. On Saturday, local blues rock group the Larry Tillery Band will headline. Special guests are the Peterson Brothers, and Mike Truth and the Replacement Killers.
A two-day pass to all events is $45 for adults and $25 for students with a valid ID. A single day pass for music or film venues only is $15 each day.
