February continues to be one of the most popular months for live music events across the region, including this year. Take a look back at previous events through the years for the week of Feb. 21 - Feb. 27.
• Feb. 22, 2004 Singer-songwriter and rocker Kenny Loggins performed inside the historic Jefferson Theater in downtown Beaumont.
• Feb. 23, 2012 Saliva, featuring new vocalist Bobby Amaru, rocked out The Gig in downtown Beaumont with special guests Siva Addiction and Fallen Within.
• Feb. 23, 1985 Iron Maiden, touring in support of its 1984 release “Powerslave,” returned to Southeast Texas as the “World Slavery Tour” arrived at the Beaumont Civic Center. The band’s Beaumont show was just one in the 75-city U.S. tour as the band trotted the globe. Opening the concert was L.A. shock rock outfit, WASP, touring in support of its self-titled debut.
• Feb. 24, 2012 Country music singer Trace Adkins performed at Nutty Jerry’s in Winnie as the musician toured in support of his August 2011 release, “Proud to Be Here.” Opening the show was David Grace.
• Feb. 24, 2004 Finger Eleven performed a showcase at Antone’s on Crockett Street in Beaumont as the group toured in support of its June 2003 self-titled album and fourth overall release.
• Feb. 24, 1980 Popular American singer and songwriter John Denver performed inside the Lake Charles Civic Center as the artist toured in support of his newly released album, “Autograph.”
• Feb. 25, 2012 Michigan rockers Pop Evil returned to Southeast Texas for a headlining concert at Dixie Dancehall in support of July 2011 release, “War of Angels.” Special guests included Otherwise and Man Made Machine.
• Feb. 26, 1986 American rock icons KISS returned to the Golden Triangle for the first time since 1982 as the group toured in support of its album, “Asylum.” WASP, touring in support of its platinum sophomore album featuring the single “Blind in Texas,” opened the show at the Beaumont Civic Center.
• Feb. 26, 1980 Country music act The Gatlin Bros. performed at the Lutcher Theater for the Performing Arts in Orange.
• Feb. 27, 2009 Country music star Tracy Lawrence returned to Southeast Texas for a concert at the Dixie Dancehall ahead of his forthcoming June 2009 release, “The Rock,” his first album of Christian music.
• Feb. 27, 2004 Texas based Christian hard rock band Flyleaf performed at Island’s Bar and Grill in Beaumont with special guest Jibe.
• Feb. 27, 2003 Rock pioneer Jerry Lee Lewis performed a sold out concert at the Dixie Dancehall on Crockett Street in Beaumont.
