BEAUMONT —
Get ready to laugh until your sides hurt, and then be prepared to laugh some more.
Ford Park welcomes what is arguably considered the greatest comedy trio of the 21st century as Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy return to Southeast Texas with a performance at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, April 14 inside Ford Arena. Tickets are $28.50 - $58.50, plus service charge, and go on sale at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 15 at all Ticketmaster outlets and www.Ticketmaster.com.
Jeff Foxworthy is a well-known comedian with a career spanning more than three decades.
He won “Best Stand-Up Comic” at the 1990 American Comedy Awards and his success has continued to grow since that time. His comedy albums “You Might Be a Redneck If...,” released in 1993, and “Games Rednecks Play,” released in 1996, have each sold millions of copies around the world.
Foxworthy has also received multiple Grammy Award nominations for his work, climbed the top of the comedy album charts and has gone on to host his own comedy specials on television and HBO.
His comedy career once again found the spotlight at the start of the 21st century with the birth of the “Blue Collar Comedy Tour,” which featured Foxworthy, along with Engvall, Larry the Cable Guy and Ron White. The tour, originally scheduled for just 20 shows, lasted three years.
Engvall, a native of Galveston, Texas, won the award for “Best Male Stand-Up Comedian” a the 1992 American Comedy Awards. He released his first comedy album, “Here’s Your Sign,” in 1996, which achieved platinum status and peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Country album chart thanks to the single and video of the same name.
Most recently he has hosted numerous television shows including the game show LINGO for GSN, Country Fried Videos and Mobile Home Disasters, for CMT. He will voice an animated character in a new show for CMT currently titled Bounty Hunters, which will begin airing in the spring of 2013.
Larry the Cable Guy, born Daniel Lawrence Whitney, is a well-known comedian known for his catch phrase, “Git-R-Done!” He has recorded seven comedy albums, three of which have achieved gold status according to the RIAA.
As popular as Whitney’s character Larry the Cable Guy, his animated counterpart Mater, from the Disney/Pixar movies “Cars” and “Cars 2” is equally as well known among children and adults.
Larry the Cable Guy is currently host of the History Channel television series, “Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy.” He is also well known for donating funds to worthwhile charities, including more than $7 million to date.
Kayla Conn, a singer-songwriter and guitarist, will open the show. Conn, who has performing since she was 10-years-old, recently released a music video and iTunes single, “Memory of Two,” which is dedicated to her grandparents and helps raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease. She will release her first full-length album in April.
