The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will feature arguably what can be considered its biggest and best lineup ever with its annual event this year.
The 2013 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s musical entertainment schedule gets a big kickstart with country music great Toby Keith on opening night, Feb. 25. Country music legend George Strait will bring the three week event to a close on Sunday, March 17.
Other highlights during this year’s Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo at Reliant Stadium include Alan Jackson on Armed Forces Appreciation Day on Feb. 27, rock legends Styx on March 4, and rising star Jason Aldean on March 11. Individual tickets go on sale at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 12.
According to the Rodeo Houston website, the star entertainers begin performing after the last rodeo event is completed each evening and the stage is set. Actual start times for the concert can vary day-to-day due to the varying number of rodeo competitors and other factors.
Artists who are performing showcases on Monday through Friday typically hit the stage between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. each night.
The concerts on Saturday, March 2, Sunday, March 3 and Sunday, March 10 will start between 5:45 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. The shows on Saturday, March 9 and Saturday, March 15 will begin between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The concert on Sunday, March 17, featuring country music legend George Strait is expected to begin at 6:30 p.m. with the Randy Rogers Band taking the stage first, followed by Martina McBride and then George Strait.
