WINNIE, Texas —
Arguably one of pop rock’s greatest duos is traveling to Southeast Texas for what should be a truly memorable night.
Daryl Hall and John Oates, better known as Hall and Oates, are performing this Saturday, Dec. 8, at Nutty Jerry’s Entertainment Complex in Winnie. Tickets are on sale for $65 - $100 each and available online at www.nuttyjerrys.com or charge by phone at 877-643-7508.
Hall and Oates rose to fame in the late 1970s and conquered the pop charts with a string of number one hits in the early-to-mid 1980s with songs “Private Eyes,” “Maneater,” “Kiss on My List,” “I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do),” “Rich Girl” and “Out of Touch.”
The duo incorporated rock and roll with rhythm and blues, along with elements of new wave, to create a style of popular music filled with catchy hooks and melodies.
Hall and Oates most recent release is the November 2008 CD, “Live at the Troubadour,” which was recorded at the famous club in Los Angeles in May 2008 and features two discs and a DVD in the package.
In 2009, the duo released a career spanning box set containing four CDs featuring 74 songs, including live and unreleased performances.
The last studio album released by Hall and Oates was “Home for Christmas” in October 2006, so, it seems likely the duo will perform a few holiday classics since the holiday season is upon us.
In a recent interview with NoDepression.com, John Oates said the duo always strives to give fans exactly what they want.
“Daryl and I stick to the classic Hall and Oates material,” Oates said. “We have such a deep catalog of songs that it would take two lifetimes to perform them all. Luckily, we have a good problem in that we have a lot of hits that folks still want to hear, so, in addition to playing the hits, we sprinkle in some choice album cuts, which can change on a nightly basis.”
