Great musical events have always made October one of the best months to see national acts in Southeast Texas. See the list below for bands and artists which have performed locally during the week of Oct. 25 - Oct. 31.
• Oct. 25, 2006 The Georgia-based rock outfit Nashville Pussy returned to Southeast Texas nearly one year to the day since its last local performance with a concert at The Vortex in Beaumont.
• Oct. 25, 2004 Country music legend Willie Nelson performed at the Lutcher Theater in downtown Orange.
• Oct. 25, 1977 Rush performed in the Beaumont Civic Center with special guests UFO and Max Webster.
• Oct. 26, 1985 Texas native and guitar legend Stevie Ray Vaughan performed at the Montagne Center at Lamar University in Beaumont.
• Oct. 26, 2009 Lyle Lovett and His Large Band opened the 2009-2010 season at the Lutcher Theater in Orange.
• Oct. 28, 2011 3 Doors Down returned to Beaumont for the third time ever with a concert at Ford Arena as the band toured in support of its July 2011 release, “Time of My Life.” The album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart behind the strength of the single “When You’re Young.” Opening the show was Theory of a Deadman and Pop Evil.
• Oct. 28, 2003 Rising country music star Craig Morgan performed at Antone’s on Crockett Street in downtown Beaumont in support of sophomore album, “I Love It,” which included the hit single, “Almost Home,” which peaked at number six on the charts.
• Oct. 29, 2010 Powerman 5000 performed the first official showcase at the newly opened Crockett Street venue, The Gig. The band was touring in support of its October 2009 release, “Somewhere on the Other Side of Nowhere.”
• Oct. 29, 2008 Canadian rockers Theory of a Deadman performed at Scout Bar on Crockett Street in downtown Beaumont in support of its hit album, “Scars and Souvenirs,” which featured the number one smash single, “Bad Girlfriend.”
• Oct. 30, 1985 Country music star Roy Clark performed at the Lutcher Theater in downtown Orange.
• Oct. 31, 1966 Legendary rock band The Yardbirds performed at the Beaumont Municipal Auditorium. Ironically, guitarist Jeff Beck either quit or was fired from the band the night before at the show in Corpus Christi. The band was touring in support of its August 1966 release, “Over Under Sideways Down.”
