Events week of July 24-30
Even with the closure of the Scout Bar in downtown Beaumont earlier this week, there are still many options available as far as live music is concerned across Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana. Here’s a listing of just some of the shows at a venue near you.
Delta Downs
The show of the weekend takes place tonight across the Sabine River as the legendary Peter Frampton performs inside The Event Center at Delta Downs Casino in Vinton, La.
Ages 21 and older are welcome to attend, and tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets and the Delta Downs Event Center box office for $60, $50 and $40 each.
Frampton is best known for the hit songs “Do You Feel Like We Do,” “Show Me the Way,” and “Baby, I Love Your Way,” and his classic album, “Frampton Comes Alive!” which was recorded at The Winterland in San Francisco, Calif. in 1976 truly captures what made this musician great.

Eagles Lodge
The Outlaws are back for the second time this month at the Eagles Nest, and a great night of music and dancing awaits for all who attend. Admission is just $5 per person, and everyone is welcome.

Cow Bayou Marina
Cow Bayou Marina in Bridge city offers quality live music every weekend, especially with performances by The Memories, which start at 4 p.m. every Friday, and the Texas Country Cajuns, which begins at 4 p.m. on Saturday. And, at 4 p.m., Sunday, catch Walker Creek on stage.

Capistrano
The country music trio known as Centerfire keep the dance floor full tonight at the Capistrano in downtown Orange for ages 21 and older. And with no cover, what’s to keep you from enjoying a night out on the town.
Cotton’s Cay
Louisiana Scramble travels west of the Sabine River for a showcase at Cotton’s Cay in Orange County starting at 9 p.m., today. Ages 18 and older are invited to attend, and admission is only $5 at the door. Call 409-886-9042 for more details.
Club 87
Milestone return to Club 87, located just north of Orange off State Highway 87, and ages 21 and older are welcome to enjoy the sounds of this entertaining band.

Madison’s
Madison’s is one of the few remaining venues in Beaumont to offer live rock bands in concert, albeit more mellow at times, but it’s still rock.
Performing on stage this Saturday is the band known as Simple Logic. Admission is $5 at the door for ages 21 and older.
And make it a point to check out El Floppy Tacos on the patio every Tuesday night. You’ll laugh and you will enjoy the music too, and, as always, admission is free on Tuesday night. Call 409-924-9777 for more info.
The Barking Dog
The best all ages concert of the weekend has to be tonight’s show at The Barking Dog as bands Daylight Broadcast, The Roaring 20s and Highline perform starting at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door.
Saturday’s showcase features the groups Weredragon Scholars, The Local Wizards, and a solo artist known as Doug. Admission is $5 for this show as well. Call 409-835-2275 for more information.
ODC
The Outlaw Drinkin’ Club has become the sole remaining haven for hard rock and heavy metal fans in Southeast Texas following the recent closures of two area venues, and the venue will make the most of it.
Performing this Saturday night is the regional act known as Flesh Hook with special guests 12 Gauge Awakening and Illustrate the End. Admission is $5 at the door for ages 18 and older. Call 409-838-5735 for details.
Logon Cafe
Get your dose of the blues tonight at Logon Cafe in Beaumont as Jack Edery and Ultrasuede perform at 9 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door.
Then, on Saturday night, enjoy the Celtic sounds of Danny O’Flaherty and his Irish heritage at 8 p.m. Admission is $10 for this fabulously entertaining performer.
If that isn’t enough to get you excited, then consider starting the weekend early next Thursday as Trip Wamsley and Matt Mosley dazzle you with their soloist skills on the bass. The show starts at 8:30 p.m., and admission is $10 per person. Visit www.logoncafe.net for more information.
Dylan’s
Dylan’s continues to offer some of the best live music in Mid-County on a weekly basis, and it all begins tonight with regional act Cracker Jackson at 11 p.m. and continues on Saturday with the Mike Zito Band. Admission is charged at the door each night for guests 21 years of age and older.

Larry’s French Market
Chris Miller and Bayou Roots travel to Groves for a concert this Saturday night at Larry’s French Market and Cajun Restaurant. Enjoy a fine meal and then dance the rest of the night away. Call 409-962-3381 for more information.
LSC-PA
The Lamar State College-Port Arthur theater department and the Port Arthur Little Theater production “Annie Get Your Gun” continues this weekend with showings at 7:30 p.m., today and Saturday, and then a matinee performance is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Sunday. A 7:30 p.m. performance is on tap for next Thursday as well.
The Lamar Theater on the campus of Lamar State College-Port Arthur, 1700 Procter Street, and tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for students and senior citizens, and $5 with a LSC-PA student ID. Call 409-984-6111 for reservations.
The Shop
Formerly known as the Keg Stand, located at 6610 Gulfway Drive in Port Arthur, The Shop looks to make its mark on the area music and club scene.
On tap starting at 8 p.m., today and Saturday is DJ Smokey, while the work week offers a variety of activities such as Amateur Pool Association pool league Monday through Thursday, and a dart league on Tuesday.
MacKenzie’s Pub
A special Saturday night concert is in store this week as area band Cajun Harmony performs on the MacKenzie’s Pub stage starting at 8 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door.
Every Wednesday at MacKenzie’s Pub is easy listening music with singer and songwriter Rick Danna from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Then, as it is every week, Thursday night is country music night with Britt Godwin and Bubba Moore. Admission is $5 at the door for ages 21 and older, and the show starts at 7 p.m. Call 409-866-2288 for more information.
Pine Tree Lodge
Friday night music is back at the Pine Tree Lodge, 3296 Pinetree Road in LaBelle, and performing at 6 p.m., today, is Johnny V.

The Place
If you get those middle of the week blues and you feel you just cannot make it until the weekend, then travel to Port Acres this Wednesday evening as the Larry Tillery Band performs once again at The Place.

Orange VFW

Whiskey River
Stoney LaRue returns to Southeast Texas for a concert this Thursday night at Whiskey River in Beaumont.
