Ford Park announces Kelly Clarkson concert
Hot on the heels of the recent major concert announcements involving bands like Journey and the Black Crowes, Ford Park has another big show headed this way later this year.
Pop superstar Kelly Clarkson will perform on December 5 at Ford Arena in Beaumont as part of the “All I Ever Wanted” Tour. Ticket prices and an on sale date will be announced at a later time.
Clarkson made her mark as the winner of the first American Idol competition in 2002 and wasted little time in conquering the pop music world.
She released her debut album, “Thankful,” in April 2003 and achieved much success, but she established her own identity with the more rock-influenced release, “Breakway,” in November 2004.
The album featured the pop rock anthem “Since U Been Gone,” and other hits like “Walk Away” and “You Found Me.”
Her fourth album, “All I Ever Wanted,” was released on March 10 and debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Her single, “My Life Would Suck Without You,” made chart history by leaping from number 97 to number 1 in its first week of release.
Clarkson, a native Texan, has sold more than 10 million albums in the United States and more than 20 million around the world.
The Clarkson concert is the third major concert announcement by SMG Management at Ford Park for the fall.
Concerts already announced include a Sept. 27 appearance by Journey and Night Ranger in Ford Pavilion and Dog Jam ’09, which will feature the Black Crowes as the headliner, plus special guest Saving Abel, on Oct. 18. More acts will be announced for Dog Jam soon.
