VIDOR —
The U.S. Presidential race continues to be the hot topic as another 1,400 voters submitted ballots across Orange County on Monday.
A total of 1,425 ballots were received at the four Orange County polling locations on Monday, which brings the seven day early voting total to 14,314 This is approximately 36 percent more votes than the 10,454 ballots tallied during the same time frame of the November 2008 early voting period.
The Orange Public Library continues to have the biggest voter turnout each day as 538 ballots were submitted on Monday, while 407 were received on Saturday. The Raymond Gould Community Center in Vidor had a total of 377 ballots turned in by voters on Monday, and another 303 on Saturday.
A total of 285 ballots were submitted at the Bridge City Public Works building on Monday, while 207 voters submitted ballots on Saturday. At the First Baptist Church in Mauriceville, 154 ballots were tallied on Monday and 166 ballots submitted Saturday.
A total 65 ballots were received in the U.S. mail on Monday, while 51 ballots were received on Saturday.
No military ballots or out of country ballots were received on Saturday, but another 12 military ballots arrived on Monday and one ballot for a resident outside of the country was received as well Two limited ballots were submitted Saturday and three more were added to the count on Monday.
Early voting continues from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., today, Tuesday, Oct. 30 through Friday, Nov. 2. Election day is Tuesday, Nov. 6.
