LITTLE CYPRESS —
A spokesperson with Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD reported shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday the employee being investigated for having an improper relationship with a student resigned after the allegations began to surface.
The reported former Little Cypress Junior High School employee is being investigated for possibly having an improper relationship with a Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School student.
Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Office were first tipped off of the possible situation by the administration of LC-M CISD on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
The Sheriff's Office collected information from both the school district and students after learning about the allegations. No names have been released and it has not been reported the sex of either the student or the teacher.
LC-M CISD reported it also detailed the allegations to the State Board of Educator Certification, who is also doing an investigation into the matter. The school district said in a press release all future information pertaining to the investigation will come from the Sheriff's Office and not the district since the person in question no longer works with the district.
No arrests have been made at this time and authorities will not release any more details while the investigation moves forward.
