VIDOR — Travis Maines has been approved to be the new principal at Vidor High School after the Vidor School Board meeting on Monday.
Maines, 29, was recommended for job last week and takes over after former principal Jay Killgo was named the district’s superintendent earlier this month.
Maines has been in education for eight years as a math teacher, coach and assistant principal.
“The (hiring) committee was really impressed with Travis (Maines) and he’s accomplished a lot in his time in administration,” Killgo said in an earlier interview.
