ORANGE —
Shuttles will be running the streets of Orange to help fans reach their destinations this weekend.
Bobby Fillyaw, director of the Orange County Economic Development Corporation, said shuttles will be running three of the four days during the Bassmaster Elite Series “Sabine River Challenge,” which takes place Thursday, March 14 through Sunday, March 17.
Although there are no official parking locations, other than the three small lots designated for officials, vendors and staff of the Orange County Riverfront Festival and Bassmasters tournament, shuttles will collect and transport passengers from several pickup locations.
“Buses will be running Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and will transport people from the festival grounds to various areas,” Fillyaw said. “We want it to be where people can go back and forth between the festival and the events taking place throughout Orange, like Art in the Park, and others at the Stark Museum and Shangri La. We want it to be as easy on everyone as possible.”
Shuttles will run starting at 2 p.m., Friday through the close of the festival that night. Shuttles will also run from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m., Saturday, and from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., Sunday.
Signs will designate pickup and drop-off points, but “bus stops” will be located at the Orange Heart Shopping Center and the MacArthur Shopping Center, both of which are on MacArthur Drive. Other bus transit points include 16th Street and Main Avenue, Fourth Street and Main Street, and Sixth Street and Front Street. Buses will also run up and down Simmons Drive to shuttle guests to and from the tournament location.
