BRIDGE CITY —
One of the newest holiday traditions in Orange County is back for another night of family fun.
The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce invites the public to attend its fourth annual nighttime parade at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8. The parade route begins with line-up at First Baptist Church on West Roundbunch near Texas Avenue and concludes at Bridge City Elementary, also on West Roundbunch near FM 408.
The parade has grown considerably since its first year and now has many of the same participants from the Orange Jaycees Parade held the night prior to the Bridge City parade.
Groups representing area businesses, schools, churches and even families have come together to take part in the festival in previous years and will do so again this Saturday. Along with lighted floats and vehicles, there are marching bands and drill teams, golf carts, fire trucks and the much anticipated appearance of Santa and Mrs. Claus.
According to parade organizer Brandy Slaughter, the parade will take place rain or shine, unless lightning is present. It will be led by this year’s Grand Marshal, Beverly Perry.
The chamber is still accepting applications for entries into the parade. Call the chamber office at 409-735-5671 for applications or information.
