ORANGE — Watch Night Sevice at Starlight

Starlight COGIC at 2800 Bob Hall Rd invite the community to worship with them on December 31, 2012 at 9 p.m. There will be testimonials, praise and worship, and the Word of God. Breakfast will be served afterwards.

Week Day Services

New Beginning Church Outreach Ministry will hold special services during Decembers. Sunday School is at 9:45 a.m., and worship is at 11 a.m., Dec. 30. The public is invited.



Pool tournament

The Fraternal Order of Eagles, 803 N. 28th St. in Orange, will host a pool tournament beginning at 8 p.m., every Friday. Prize money will given to first and second place winners. Food will be available. Call Sharon Bodin at 409-735-8662 or 409-719-7793 for info.



Christmas Dance

The Class 1969 Stark High School Christmas Dance will be held starting at 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 29, at the American Legion Hall, 108 Green Avenue in Orange, for ages 35 and older. Admission is $10 per person and includes a bowl of gumbo. Call Susie Murray at 409-988-5741 for more info.



BCISD to purge records

Bridge City ISD special education records will be purged on Dec. 31, 2012, for students whose special education services ceased prior to August 2005. Any previous special education student, who is at least 18 years old, or the parent or guardian of a minor student, may pick up records in the Special Education Office. Chevron, Texaco and Unocal retirees to meet

The Chevron, Texaco and Unocal Retirees Association will meet Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Robert's Steak House, 3720 West Park Avenue, in Orange. All Chevron, Texaco and Unocal retirees, spouses and guests are invited to attend for a good "Dutch treat" meal, fellowship and a presentation by Paula Tacker, Orange County Extension Agent, on "Diabetes." Information presented will be useful for those who have diabetes and those who have family members who have diabetes. 



Membership meeting

The Orange African American Museum will hold a membership meeting 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 303 North 8th Street in Orange to update progress and discuss future plans for the museum. For more information contact Henry Lowe at 409-330-4243 or Gloria Anderson at 409-833-7251.



Fundraiser

The American Legion Post 49, 108 Green Avenue, Orange, will hold a plat lunch fundraiser from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10. The Cost is $8. The meal will consist of brisket, link, potato salad, beans, bread and dessert. Walk-ins are welcome and delivery is available. Orders and deliveries will be taken between noon, Wed. Jan. 9 and 9 a.m. Thurs. Jan. 10. Call 409-886-1241 to place an order.
