Murl Bishop and La Quinta Wheat were married on July 14, 1961 at Twelfth Street Missionary Baptist Church in Orange and celebrated their Fiftieth Anniversary on July 14, 2011. Murl is retired from Firestone in Orange and La Quinta is a retired CPA. They have four children, Kellie Riley and Jason Bishop of Orange, Dr. Leslie M. Bishop of Austin and Karen Hammond of San Antonio, who have blessed them with ten grandchildren. They were treated to a vacation in Hawaii earlier this year by Les and all the children and grandchildren hosted by a reception and luncheon in their honor at Kellie’s home on July 16, 2011.
